My artwork in iTunes for Windows was randomly disappearing. In addition to the artwork disappearing, I had new information appearing in the track info when I played a song. I've been using FileZilla lately after FTP Voyager started to give me problems. FileZilla is okay, but it does not support WebDAV. I need WebDAV so I could access my Mac iDisk from my Windows PC but unfortunately not many FTP clients support the WebDAV protocol. I finally found BitKinex which supports WebDAV quite nicely. I've been playing with Gmail's "YouTube previews in mail" labs feature. When someone sends me a YouTube link I can now watch the video in Gmail without having to launch a new browser window. I picked up a Palm Centro a couple months ago and it's a pretty nice unit. I've been struggling with the battery though because it seems to only last a few hours even if I'm not using it at all. Amazon is selling a product called the Kindle. The idea is that you carry one device and read all your books on it. You download books to the Kindle and read them on one device. It supposedly has a sharp display but somehow I don't think I'll ever prefer reading on electronic devices to paper. Call me old fashioned but...I just don't see it for me.

So I picked up an iPhone and used it for a couple days. I must say it's a huge step in the right direction for mobile computing, but I returned it. I just did not like the lack of external buttons. The new Yahoo Mail is finally out of beta and it is fantastic. There have been so many speed improvements that it is finally a useable email client. I still use Outlook because I can't always rely on an Internet connection, but the new Yahoo Mail is a nice secondary email client. If you haven't taken it for a test drive, check it out!

For some reason Firefox for Mac is sluggish while using Gmail and Yahoo Mail. I am now using Camino as my primary Mac browser while still using Firefox on my PC. Hopefully the folks at Mozilla will compile a separate version of Firefox that is faster on the Mac. Until then, I'll be using Camino.

As far as I'm concerned Melinda Doolittle is the only stand out in American Idol this season. It has always been my contention that American Idol should be re-titled, "American Amateur" because 99% of the contestants just do not have it. In this case, Melinda Doolittle obviously does have it.
